Low-Voltage Network Hosting Capacity: How Much Solar Is Too Much Solar?
Are we pushing our distribution networks to the limits? As distributed energy resources (DERs) become more common, the question isn't just how much we can benefit from them, but also how much is too much for our distribution networks. This article explores the delicate balance of maximizing solar power while avoiding overloads and voltage issues in low-voltage networks. Through a detailed analysis of six different network types, the study offers insights into how much solar power these systems can host. Dive in to see how the estimated hosting capacities match the international DSO experience.
